Here are a few simple tips for getting the longest life out of your new parking lot, athletic court, or indoor warehouse Striping.
Try to schedule striping for when the weather is favorable.
The conditions in which the initial application of your paint is laid will play a critical role in the longevity of your pavement markings. If the paint is applied when the surface temperature is too cold, it won't adhere as well as if it were done in more optimal temperatures. The same is true for moisture on the surface. If the pavement isn't completely dry, the paint won't adhere properly.

Salt WILL degrade your paint!
Wisconsin winters can be really hard on your asphalt or concrete lots as a whole, including the striping. The use of salt will degrade not only the paint on your lot, but can cause pitting on new concrete as well.

Allow new paint time to fully cure before driving heavy machinery over it.
This is especially true with indoor warehouses and manufacturing plants. The paints we use, while quick to dry, do need time to fully cure before they can be driven over with heavy machinery. For longer lasting epoxy or enamel paints, we recommend waiting 24 hours before driving heavy equipment over the paint.

Invest in the longest lasting paint you can!
Each type of paint has a different life expectancy. The markings you use for your parking lot, indoor warehouse, or manufacturing facility ARE an investment! Some paint types can improve the longevity of the markings by double, or even LONGER, in some cases. If you can make the investment to a higher grade paint, you will save money by not having to have the markings redone nearly as often!
